About us

Hiya! I’m Shelby, and I launched The Play Cafe in August 2024, taking the reins from The Ark Market Deeping. My vision was to create a welcoming haven for babies and toddlers, along with their mamma's, dads, grandparents, carers, and childminders. A place where you can relax in a friendly atmosphere, enjoy a hot drink or a slice of cake, and enjoy lunch while watching your little ones have a blast on our soft play climbing frame or in our imaginative role play & dressing up area.

I aimed to create a space that’s affordable for everyone, ensuring it’s within reach for most budgets. That’s why we don’t charge for adult admission like some other places do.

We also have a small space for pre-loved children's items - anyone in need of anything for their child then it is there for them to take, however we do also have a money box for any donations that can be made, any money taken will be spent on our toilet / baby change 'emergency stash' of nappies, wipes, cream, tampons, pads etc which are free for customers to use if they need to.

I have Isaac who is 12 and Daisy who is 4, so sometimes you will see them with me at The Play Cafe (on these days i may be a little more frazzled so please bare with me haha)
